Liz's Story on her experience of Breathwork

One often hears the Spiritually Enlightened talking of the Oneness of life, or saying that we are all part of the same breath, but in truth, most of us have no idea what they mean, until that it is, you are taught how to access what I call the "one breath". While working together on my breathing, Terri made me aware of its shallowness, and how this reflected my attitude to life.

In short, my breathing mechanism was a shallow, constricted gasp, that just tapered off. To illustrate the lifelessness of my breathing, Terri drew a graph, with the highest point demonstrating the best possible breath I could take, and where I was in relation to that, and then she encouraged me to aim for my personal best in-breath. At that moment, I realised I've always fallen short of my personal best in life. I've had a fundamental fear of life that has undermined my efforts, at times collapsing them altogether.

Terri explained how correct breathing can facilitate the inspiration and belief required to achieve my dreams and full potential. She reminded me of the perfection of the first breath I ever took. I realised I am that breath.

With Terri's guidance, I began at the beginning, taking a full in-breath, and making my out-breath equal in measure. Once this rhythm set in, I instantaneously recognised the perfect breathing faculty and the inhalation-exhalation distinction vanished, because in reality they are the same thing; the Oneness, the breath of life. Experiencing the perfect breath is akin to standing on top of Everest and being awash with oxygen.

Once you've accessed your perfect breath, there's no going back. There's nothing quite like connecting to my own empowerment.
